The 2023 Nissan Pathfinder is the Japanese giant’s new star in the lineup of crossover SUVs. Since you can already order one, let’s check out what’s new about this sturdy vehicle that looks as great on a gala night as on a mudded road.
Performance and Driveability
Six trims are available in this lineup, coming with a 3.5L V6 engine with DOHC 24-valve Direct Injection Gasoline (DIG). This engine also has direct fuel injection and Continuously Variable Valve Timing Control System (CVTCS). All trims also come with a 9-speed automatic transmission with manual mode.
Horsepower ranges between 284hp and 295hp, while torque capacity ranges between 259 lb-ft and 270 lb-ft. As for fuel efficiency, all models enjoy 8.5km/L in city conditions, while the overall performance varies on the highways, ranging between 9.7km/L and 11.4km/L.
Interior and Exterior
The 2023 Nissan Pathfinder is as comfortable as it is spacious. There are three rows of seats, taking up to eight passengers. Front seats are heated across all trims, as is the leather-wrapped steering wheel. The front seats also come with several lumbar adjustments and memory systems.
Front seats have a headroom of 107.4 cm and legroom of 112.5 cm. The second row has 97.5 cm and 90.1 cm, respectively, while the third row has 98.2 cm of headroom and 71 cm of legroom. Temperature is controlled via a tri-zone automatic system in all models.
The Pathfinder also comes with LED headlights and taillights in all trims, but heated and power-folding mirrors are available only in higher trims. Other standard features include a rear spoiler, UV-reducing solar glasses, rear privacy glass, and intelligent auto headlights.
Tech and Safety
The new Pathfinder is packed with handy tech features, including a sophisticated infotainment system and several driving assists. All models are compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and have voice recognition, auxiliary audio input, and Bluetooth. Additionally, there’s a three-month subscription to SiriusXM radio included.
Some features are available only for the top trims, such as the 13-speaker Bose Premium audio system, a three-month subscription for SiriusXM Traffic, and Travel Link.
This crossover SUV is also a very safe vehicle, with a long list of driving assists. All trims have cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure, blind spot monitoring, hill start assist, and more. Upper trims have special features such as traffic sign recognition, blind spot intervention, front and rear sonar system, and hill descent control.
